2016 releases Ive Read so far…

This week is all about the 2016 releases I have had the pleasure of enjoying so far. I haven’t read 10 but I’m also going to list the ones I wanted to read but didnt get to. Can anyone believe it’s June already? Looking back on books I read in January feels like it was just a month or two ago!

    1. Truthwitch by Susan Dennard24790901
★★★★★ I really enjoyed this story of friendship and I feel like we have only seen the tip of the iceburg, I think there is so much more to come in the rest of the series.
    2. The Abyss Surrounds Us by Emily Skrutskie
★★★★★ This one blew my mind guys, it was non-stop action and unlike anything I have read before, I cant wait for book #2!
    3. Blackhearts by Nicole Castroman
★★★★ Another story that I NEED the sequel to, seriously that ending gutted me! Nicole Castroman knows how to pull your heart strings.
    4. The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner22752127
★★★★★ I laughed, cried, and hoped with these characters. Jeff Zentner’s writing is so raw and vivid, it felt like the story of three real people. I am interested to see what he does next.
    5. Genius: The Game by Leopoldo Gout
★★★★ I know this will sound corny but this was a very cool read. I loved the friendship, the smarts and the way everything neatly wove together. A fast read too!
    6. This Savage Song by V E Schwab
★★★★ Not YET released, but what a story! This is in its own category, you really have to read it to understand. I highly recommened it.

jan-Jun 2016 releases I wanted to read but havent yet…

  1. The Imposter Queen by Sarah Fine
  2. Beyond The Red by Ava Jae23299513 (1)
  3. Rebel Of The Sands by Alwyn Hamilton
  4. The Shadow Queen by C J Redwine
  5. The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi
  6. Girl Against the Universe by Paula Stokes
  7. Summer of Sloane by Erin L Schneider
  8. The Rose and the Dagger by Renee Ahdieh
  9. A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas
  10. Mornign Star by Pierce Brown

I feel a lot of shame for that last one because I love the Red Rising series SO MUCH, I think I;m jsut not ready for it to be over. Also, ACOMAF where are you? I ordered this so long ago and I stalk my postman daily but it has not arrived yet…

As you can see I really havent read anything I didnt like so far this year and I have only had one DNF although Im worried my current read could be a second. Im really curious if you have read any of the one I havent read yet did you enjoy them? Link me your lists!

Fall & Winter Releases

I cant wAIT tO gET MY HANDS ON!

I have read some really good releases so far this year but I have to admit some of the ones that I am most excited for have yet to be released. Im not going to list them in any order or go into detail for each one why I want to read them. They all have beautiful covers, captivating snopsis and many are by auto-buy authors. So here are the releases I cant wait to get my hands on…

These are my most anticipated, keep me awake at night, counting the days till, already pre-ordered, releases.

These are all on the darker side and lately I am really enjoying the dark side. This most likely began with Adelina from the first book in the Young Elites series and is continuing with these other fabulous titles.

And last but not least are all these beauties! Ever the Hunted is the most beautiful cover I have seen, okay it is in the top ten for sure. The Sun is also a Star is also beautiful, I have an ARC and I am so excited to read more from the author of Everything Everything. And of course The Fate of the Tearling, I feel a lot of anxiety about this one because I think I will either really love or really hate the ending.

As you can see not many of these books are under the radar, many of you have them on your lists as well and most bookworms have heard of them. That is the only thing I don’t like about my list, there aren’t enough quieter or debut titles. The releases on my list for the first half of the year had a few titles in that category but I must be out of the loop because I don’t have any for the second half. So I am asking all of you guys, if you know of a quieter book that you think is going to be amazing but I havent heard of PLEASE LET ME KNOW! And have an amazing week!

This week I will be quoting The Crowns Game by Evelyn Skye 26156203

“Pasha dropped his head to his hands and wept”

I choose this quote for this months post because I wept when I read it and that is rare. Evelyn Skye is an author to watch for guys I cant wait to read her future writings!

April & May Wrap Up

Hey bookworms! I know I haven’t posted in quite some time and it means so much to me that you have stuck around and you’re reading this now. To say I had a lot going on in May is an understatement. I was stressing out, trying to find time to post when I hardly had time to eat or sleep so I just took the month off. Which means I never 20160430_100856posted my April wrap up so I am combining it with Mays because… well… I didn’t finish a single book in May. Please don’t go! I was honestly that busy. So, while I will be posting more this month I will also be trying to read a lot, so I might not be back to my regular posting consistency till July. Thanks for bearing with me guys. I also promise to get back to watching your videos and reading your blogs, commenting and generally rejoining the book community. Keep your eyes peeled for my post detailing my experience at Yallwest last month!

For those of you interested in what kept me so busy I will fill you in quickly. I moved out from staying with family to my own place about five minutes away. It sounds quick an easy in theory but with a ten month old I could only pack, transport, and unpack for a few hours each night. To slow things down I also had to do a lot of cleaning because the previous tenant, honestly more like the last few, left the place pretty gross. Also slowing the process, I started a new job that requires a LOT of training. So my days were very, very full. I’m loving my new place and the new job but I am VERY glad that it is all over now and I have time to just sit here and talk to you. I’m also excited about how bookish my new place is. There is a Six of Crows illustration by Fictograph in my living room. Enough said.

The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh

The first few chapters were hard to get into but I was very quickly hooked by this beautiful story. I am 100% team Khalid by the way and I can’t wait to start reading The Rose and the Dagger *Review to come*
Challenges Met: Flights of Fantasy, #RockmyTBR
Around the Year in 52 Books – #3 A Book Set In A Different Continent

23395680
Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman
 – 4★
I love the way this story was told and the main character Kady was everything I want in a female lead. The ONLY reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because I hate the zombies in space trope. I was also looking forward to more Kady and Ezra in book #2 but it’s about a totally different couple. *Review to come*

Wow. Okay, I admit it, I don’t like retellings, but this one was awesome! I loved that there were only the bare bones of the fairytale and the rest was fresh and original. Cyborgs, a princess who is trying to save the prince, aliens, what more could you ask for? Now I see what all the fuss was about. *Review to come*
