For me an effective villain is one that makes me angry, uncomfortable, and repulsed. If an author can make me hate the bad guy so much, that I wish I could take action myself, they’ve won a spot of this list! They all share similar traits; arrogant, fanatical, oppressive, manipulative, sel-righteous, and brutal. All of which really get under my skin!
