villains

amarantha_by_merwild-dagu9ruFor me an effective villain is one that makes me angry, uncomfortable, and repulsed. If an author can make me hate the bad guy so much, that I wish I could take action myself, they’ve won a spot of this list! They all share similar traits; arrogant, fanatical, oppressive, manipulative, sel-righteous, and brutal. All of which really get under my skin!

  1. Teren Santoro from The Young Elites by Marie Lu
  2. The Darkling from Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
  3. Queen Levana from The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
  4. Maven from Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
  5. Duke Roger in The Song of The Lioness by Tamora Pierce
  6. Piper from The Raven Cycle by Maggie Steifvater
  7. The Commandant from An Ember In The Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
  8. Amarantha from A Court Of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas
  9. Elthis from Bound by Blood and Sand by Becky Allen
  10. Bellatrix Lastrange from Harry Potter by J K Rowling
